Information for New Clients

If you are a new client, please go through the questions and answers below for more information.

Curly Q's and A's

A: No problem; there is a parking lot behind the building on 34th. If you're taking an Uber or using Apple Maps, please use the address, not the name. For some reason, Uber and Apple Maps have us at our old location. We're located at 3401 Nicollet Ave, and the zip code is 55408.

A: We now require a credit card to secure your appointment. If you cancel the same day, the stylist doesn't get paid. As a courtesy, we ask that you give a 72-hour notice of cancelation so that others may book an appointment. Our prices are set at a base price. If you do not show up for your scheduled time, we may charge you for your service and have you prepay or refuse your next service for not showing up for an appointment.

A: We would like you to answer a questionnaire form (click on the button below) so we can correctly give you enough time for the service. If you are a new color client, please book a consultation first so we can book the correct service. You can call or text us at (612) 729-4415.

New Client Form

A: We cut the hair dry first, so please come in with your hair dry and in its naturally curly state. You can have some product in your hair. Don't have it in a ponytail or pulled back in any way. If your hair is wet or stretched out, this will distort the curls, and we may have to rebook your service.

A: Yes. As the first salon in Minnesota (and maybe all of the Midwest) to specialize in curly hair, all our stylists are trained in cutting and coloring curly hair. We train apprentices, and they may be available to cut at a lower price.

Please note: "Curly Cuts" and "Deva Cuts" are one and the same, both done on dry hair.

A: For curly hair, we highly recommend Innersense, but we have alternative products such as Mop Top, Original Moxie, and Davines. For more product information, please ask your stylist.

A: For starters, we will do a hair assessment, consult with you to find out what you want out of the appointment, give a Dry Cut, and Wash & Go. You will get an educational email (optional) that will include step-by-step instructions for your hair. We are here to do our absolute best.

Expect to answer a lot of questions about your curly hair, the challenges you're facing, and where you would like your hair to be today and a few months from now.

Unfortunately, getting healthy curls does not happen overnight. It is a process that takes time and deliberation (it is totally worth it in the end). However, you can expect to leave with beautiful curls you've likely never seen before!

A. At this time, we are not enforcing mask-wearing. We still have clients who are compromised, so some of us will be wearing masks.

Services

Cancelation Policy: If you must cancel or rebook your appointment, we respectfully request a 72-hour notice of cancelation. Cancelation or missed appointments without the 72-hour notice will result in charge of a part of or all of the service price.
